The Riverview Medical Center represents a design/build effort to construct an oncology clinic for a group of cancer specialists. The challenge of this 10,000 SF outpatient medical office building, including two hidden cobalt radiation vaults, was to design a facility that was welcoming to very sick and vulnerable patients. SRG elected to use traditional forms and a large front porch which extends into a sunlit waiting room, so as to convey a residential quality to the center. SRG received a Masonry Institute Award for the innovative use of colored architectural scored block.
