SRG Architects has served Proctor’s Theatre for over 30 years and provided numerous restorations and upgrades including re-roofing, new bathrooms, reconstruction/re-creation of original marquees, stage floor replacement, exterior masonry restoration, interior ornamental plaster restoration, new central air conditioning, hazardous materials abatement, ventilation system cleaning, etc.
Our recent involvement was the comprehensive expansion of this historic downtown theater into a performing arts complex through the expansion of the stage and backstage support areas to accommodate full-scale Broadway productions.
Additionally, we designed new lighting, sound systems and rigging as well as new seating, handicap accessibility and acoustical enhancements.
Adjacent areas were developed for retail and office space and a new multi-functioning black box theater for the presentation of large format (Iwerks) film, avant-garde theater and more intimate musical presentations. The connected first floor of the former Carl Company features a restaurant, visitors center, and ticket counter—as well as Sunday Farmers Market. Our Team also provided a new District Heating Plant for the downtown 400 Block which will heat and cool the Proctors Complex and local energy subscribers.
